The butterfly symbolises transformation…

Love, Love, Loving the new diet. Who would have thouht eating mainly vegetables would be so tasty.

I’m waiting for my friend to arrive (she mistakenly took the wrong train!) and decided to read a card she bought me with bright butterflies on it. She wrote in it,’ The Butterfly symbolises transformation, change, celebration, positivity, freedom, fun and joyous times.’ Boy she didn’t know at the time at how relevant that is to me now. So I decided to look into this further and found this info which will help any cancer survivor I think;

Overwhelmingly, cultural myth and lore honour the butterfly as a symbol of transformation because of its impressive process of metamorphosis.
The butterfly beckons us to keep our faith as we undergo transitions in our lives. She understands that our toiling, fretting and anger are useless against the turning tides of nature – she asks us to recognize the same. Its connection with the soul is rather fitting. We are all on a long journey of the soul. On this journey we encounter endless turns, shifts, and conditions that cause us to morph into ever-finer beings. At our soul-journey’s end we are inevitably changed – not at all the same as when we started on the path.

To take this analogy a step further, we can look again to the grace and eloquence of the butterfly and realise that our journey is our only guarantee. Our responsibility to make our way in faith, accept the change that comes, and emerge from our transitions as brilliantly as the butterfly.

Butterflies bring colour and joy with them. The colours of the butterfly should be examined for significance and to help you understand its role within your life. Look at how much or little joy is in your life. Lighten up. Look for change. Make changes when the opportunities present themselves. The butterfly will teach you that growth and change do not have to be traumatic. Change can occur as gently and as joyfully as one wishes.

I’m a Butterfly. So I’m off to have a little dance. 🙂
